Cyber Security Awareness
This package is broad by nature and tailored to meet the clients’ specific requirements, especially around legislative and regulatory compliance. As a minimum, it covers off:
- What is cyber security?
- Why is it important?
- What is a hacker?
- What do they want?
- What are some recent and relevant cyber security events to your industry?
Cyber Security: How to think like a hacker.
A novel approach to cyber security training, aimed at getting non-technical people to consider how they’re most vulnerable by putting them in the shoes of someone looking to exploit them.
The course begins with a broad overview of the threats out there, relevant real-world examples of people being exploited and then the following questions are explored in a dynamic, interactive discussion:
- Why would a hacker target you?
- Why would a hacker target your organisation?
- What valuable information/data do you have access to that they might want?
- Thinking like a hacker, where would you look to find out more about you?
Under guidance, participants then conduct a vulnerability assessment exercise of their personal digital presence.
Finally, upon conclusion of the vulnerability assessment exercise, participants are provided with actionable tips and tricks to reduce their online footprint, secure their information and spot hacking attempts.
Social Engineering – Understanding the Threat
Social engineering refers to all techniques aimed at talking a target into revealing specific information or performing a specific action for illegitimate reasons. This training package focuses on explaining what it is, how it works and how it can be used to manipulate you against your wishes. Delivered as a seminar, this training is aimed at individuals with access to sensitive information, arming them with the skills to spot such attempts early.
Phishing – Terminology, techniques and tactics.
Phishing is the no.1 vector by which malicious individuals gain illegitimate access to organisations and individuals. This training course goes through:
- Terminology: Phishing as a term actually encompasses a wide range of terms, such as Spear Phishing, Whaling, Business Email Compromise (BEC) etc. We’ll break down each one, with industry-relevant examples of each.
- Techniques – How does each variant of phishing work? What makes it different from the others?
- Tactics – Who is the target of each variant?
This training package will teach its participants to identify and report clever phishing attempts, safeguarding both them and their organisation.
